LASALLE was finally laid to rest last week. She did not go easy. It took over
12 hours and tons of ordanance to do the job. They fired every weapon in the
inventory, including several HARPOON missiles and 1000lb bombs and she would not
go down. In the end, they had to send in the Cruisers and Destroyers to sink it
with their 5" guns.
